This has been my number one fight with God. ‘Things aren’t changing, God’. Things are still the same and señor No chill decided to take me through the Bible to school me (as always). Before I continue, let me just say the Holy Spirit doesn’t entertain arguments with you. He knows you are just an ignorant child so when you throw tantrums and rant, I imagine He’s just quiet watching you like a toddler who wants his way but what he wants will serve him no purpose so He’ll just sit and watch. So the last time I hit Him with things aren’t changing blah Blah Blah (because really it was gibberish I was saying) He said ‘come with me and show me times where I changed things.’
So we started with Abraham, I said ah but you changed things for him, gave him a child and He asked an interesting question , He said ‘ did He become younger? No so I couldn’t have changed things for him, what I changed was his perception.
Let’s go to David, Did Goliath shrink? No I just introduced the Israelites to someone who saw him differently. Same situation, different perception and then we looked at the story of Caleb and joshua in numbers and that’s my personal favourite. Two set of people were sent to the same land! Same same land yet two different reports. One set came to prophesy doom but Caleb and joshua ohhhhh Caleb & joshua came back rejoicing at the beauty and resource of the land.
After the third one I was sold! Things don’t change until we do! Our perception and response to the situation is what causes change. Your perception is what provokes the change. So all these years, I’ve been waiting for things to change but God has been trying to have me know that the situation isn’t the problem but my perception of it is what is flawed. Most of the time, we pray to God for things to change and God is saying you’ve been staring at this sea for soooo long and pointing your rod to the heavens but if you point it at the seas, you’d notice that power already belongs to you. You’d realize that you just have to change your perception and begin to see things as God sees them and call them as He calls them. Things won’t change until you do. God empowers us to make the changes ourselves. So you are looking for things to change, ask yourself if you are looking at it the way you ought, the way God sees it. Change begins with you! Until tomorrow, stay blessed
