“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
God made that promise at the beginning of time. That promise was made in isolation of a condition. It did not say I would never leave you or forsake you IF… It says I will never leave you or forsake you, no conditions attached. If someone moves, it wasn’t God but you!
I forget to pray but that promise still stands,
I forget to give Him praise for things He freely gives but His promise still stands,
I constantly choose my own path over His but His promise still stands.
I get angry at Him for not giving me what I THINK I want/need but His promise still stands.
I fail Him daily yet His promise still stands.
Days that I have moved further away from Him, I complain that He’s far yet His promise still stands.
When I get exactly what I prayed for and forget Him till the next need, His promise still stands.
God gave us that promise and has kept it since the very first time those words left His lips. Sometimes it looks like God is taking too long, He’s not answering, He’s gone silent, He’s watching you suffer, He’s watching your tears fall. This is a reminder that He is not gone anywhere, He is right where He was, during the good times. If it isn’t an expected end, an end to bring you hope and joy and peace then it’s not the end! (Jeremiah 29:11)
Stay strong and trust that once God said that He would NEVER leave us or forsake us. He meant every word.
It’s one of the devil’s number one tactics to try swaying believers out of destiny. He tries to convince us that God has left us that He has failed on His promise and forsaken us. Convince us that we need to take matters in our own hands, that we should help ourselves because God isn’t coming to our rescue but I was sent to write this piece to remind you to Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will NEVER leave you nor forsake you.
Be encouraged to know that God speaks promises with the intention to keep them. His words would not return to Him void, His words are backed with all His power, He can’t take them back neither can He go against them! Hold Him to His promise. Know that if there is a gap, you did the moving. No matter the situation, no matter how you feel, no matter what it looks like, no matter how raging the storms seem, no matter how loud and strong the persecution of the world is… God will NEVER leave you or forsake you just reach out and take His hand.
Be persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)
God bless you!
