This year, I learnt it’s all or nothing with God. You can’t do that one foot in, one foot out life. What I really came to understand though is, you don’t trust in God while you sort out a plan b. In this Christian journey you put all your eggs into His basket.
Growing up, time and time again we’ve heard ‘Don’t put all your eggs into one basket’. It’s risky, some will even say it’s foolish. When I quit my first job. I knew I had to. God said leave & i knew He said so and knew I needed to, it was confirmed to me in so many ways. I remember I told my friend and she said to me ‘ aye Jewie! What’s your plan b? Don’t you want to secure another job before you quit? That’s the logical thing to do’ and i remember bursting into laughter. I laughed so hard because she used the word ‘logical’ and God had said to me that, ‘people will say this decision isn’t logical but you don’t exist in kingdom where logics apply’.
If God said! I repeat, if God is the one who said, best believe there would come a performance of the things told you of the Lord. His word doesn’t return to Him void so once He’s said it, trust Him and let Him walk you through it to the end. For me, I’d get impatient and start helping God out with the process, I’d start securing my plan b. Making sure my safety net is fixed properly as if God can fail. As if what we can ever imagine for ourselves can match up to what He has in store for us. As if He needs our help working out his good plans for our lives.
This year I’ve learned that as much as we’ve grown up hearing and learning to always have a plan b, an option b or whatever. When we come to Christ, faith means jumping in with both feet, Faith means all your eggs plus the eggs of your generation to come lol in one basket. When you trust God, you trust Him ‘basket full’, you don’t say you trust him yet you’d secure some things on the side just in case He delays or doesn’t come through. Every time God has made a promise and it didn’t happen, you shifted! You missed it. He always always keeps His end of the deal. He’s literally a man of His word. Once He says it, It is done! Trust Him and trust Him the whole basket full. Until tomorrow, stay blessed
