You are what you eat
It looks like the Holy Spirit wants me to go on this food cleanse. These subs He’s throwing, I don’t even barb it but I weirdly did learn that your body makes fuel out of the things you put in it to run it so if you are putting in junk, it’s going to use that to run your body. Thinking about it like this made it a little scary for me because imagine fuel from constant KFC… aye!!! Anyway before I go into this post I just want to use this platform to congratulate myself from breaking my fries addiction. In 2016 the furthest I could go without it was days but thank youuuuu Father, now it’s takes months before I realize I haven’t had some or before I even have a slight craving for it. Can the church say Hallelujah!!!! Hehehe
One of the challenges I’m facing with this daily post is how elaborate I want to be with them but also I took this challenge to prove to myself that I don’t need to be a crazy talkative person to get the message across so we press on my darlings hehe You are what you eat. This year I learnt the physical side to it but since I’m not obeying it, I’m not even going to come on here and give advice on health when I have shelved all the things I learned concerning it. Im talking about what you feed yourself with spiritually. You are the Word you feed yourselves with. You fruit the knowledge from scripture you meditate on. You don’t fruit the Knowledge in scripture. When I’m saying that, I’m saying because it’s written doesn’t make it useful to you. You don’t see jollof in the pot and it makes you full. Unless, you dish it out and eat, it doesn’t affect you or fill your belly by merely knowing it’s there. Some of our biggest problems as believers is that we believe scripture doesn’t work all the time. You know because we’ve seen it work with others and maybe in our lives but sometimes it doesn’t work or so it seems. Truth is, confession isn’t born out of reciting a book, that’s quotation. Confession is born out of the scripture you have buried in your heart.
You are what you eat. You start to fruit the things you plant inside your heart. The Bible says be patient but you aren’t patient even though you’ve been telling yourself the fruit of the spirit is patience. That’s a recital where you are just repeating what God has said. To walk in this fruit of patience you have to meditate on it. Think on day and night, find scriptures that support it. Pray with it in mind. Stay on it day after day, night after night. Until you imbibe it into your heart so much that it your heart is full then you speak it to fruit it.
If you stay on the word of God, only then would you fruit it because it becomes you, it becomes your food that fuels you. On the flip side, if you feed yourself with things of this world, you’d fruit it. It’s why it’s very important what you pay attention to. The things we watch, see, the conversations we have because words of all kinds give an energy to perform so you think oh it’s just a movie, a song, oh I didn’t even contribute to this convo but sweetheart you sat to listen. It all influences us believe it or not. The more you feed on it, the more it becomes you. Like Lot, you wouldn’t even notice how but one day you’d be by Abraham’s side and the next you are in sodom and before you know if your own daughters plan to sleep with you. You may look like you are in control of matters until you are so full of it, you fruit it. I hear people tell me, there is a lot of sex is this series but they say watching it believing they are strong enough to bring their flesh under subjection… funny! The most ridiculous one I’ve heard is oh but I’m married hahaha because marriage cures lust? Again funny! People are energized to kill themselves because of things they feed on. People are angry, self-harming, evil, hopeless, struggling with their walk entirely because of the worldly things they let into their system.
Sweethearts, let’s be mindful of what we let into our beings because that’s what we build fuel out of to run ourselves. We realize we want some things but we don’t know where we got those desires from. You are what you eat! Feed yourself on the Word. Get books, podcasts, an Audio bible. Listen to sermons. Meditate on the things above so that your life may glorify Him. Until tomorrow, stay blessed
